Enhancing labor market inclusion of the disabled people

Nordic perspectives on enhancing labour market inclusion of the disabled people – how to leave no-one behind in Latvia

As with other European countries, Latvia struggles with a lowering demographic trend. With many skilled citizens moving abroad, there is a shortage of labor in several sectors. In order to respond to this and also to adhere to the United Nations’ Agenda 2030’s key principle of leaving no-one behind, it is vital to intensify efforts to include people with disabilities in the working life. Not only does this make sense economically, but it is also socially and morally the right thing to do.

This panel discussion brings together Nordic and Latvian experts to discuss what has been done in Latvia so far and how these activities can be further enhanced in order to create a truly inclusive labor market.
