Nordic Talks inspire to act

DesignTalks: Let’s talk about the basics

Humanity is facing the eleventh hour and the call for more sustainable solutions has never been louder. Failed global collaborations on cutting emissions, political instability and repercussions after the pandemic.

More and more people have difficulties affording or even acquiring food, clothing, and shelter, while others struggle with what to do with the trash. Resources are scarce and unevenly distributed, and then on top of that - there’s the energy crisis. So what now?

Explore alternative ecologies? Transform obsolete systems? Innovate on resources and new forms of energy? How to ethically produce clothing and commodities? How to build and rebuild for all?

The talk is a part of DesignTalks 2023, which is the biggest design conference in Iceland. DesignTalks is the opening event of DesignMarch festival and is a day full of innovative talks from some of the most forward thinking designers, architects and creative thinkers of today. DesignTalks addresses the challenges the world is facing and highlights the importance of design and architecture in societal and global change.
