Social dialogue within the green transition
Climate change is increasingly impacting people's health, livelihoods, incomes, and overall quality of life. Therefore, it's crucial to both mitigate and adapt to these changes. However, implementing these measures can result in intended and unintended consequences, emphasising the need for careful planning to ensure a fair and inclusive transition.
In Korea, social acceptance plays a crucial role, with various projects facing challenges related to it. These projects include biogas initiatives in rural areas, waste-to-energy schemes in urban settings, offshore wind farms in fishing zones, hydrogen cities, and the decarbonization of traditional heavy industries through renewable energy.
